[For the past 5 years, whether or not it's a school break or not, Sugane is all too used to waking up early. More than that, he's been a light sleeper since about his third year as a Gatchamen. So, it isn't too surprising to find himself waking up earlier than usual thanks to some ridiculous

dream. Though that's when he instantly notice something seem different. Namely, Ryosuke's sleeping form seems bigger than before.

Actually, as he turns to himself; he was smaller as well. Even in his somewhat sleep-addled state, he did a mental check and imagine that the height difference between him and his 'spouse' was now even more pronounce. His mind slowly sinks in; if there's anything he remembers feeling (literally) small, it's that Ryousuke likely isn't going to spare him with this newfound discovery.

At least stealth had always been on his side, he could sneak out before the other boy wakes up. Groggily he gets up from the bed, and tries to get up.]

[Only to make the wrong step, loosing his balance and fall on the cold floor.

Whatever happened to stealth.]

[That was one thing they in common. One didn't attend a private baseball school without being forced awake at ridiculous hours of the morning for training each day. And although here at Holly Heights, he let himself sleep in a little longer, old habits were hard to break so soon. Ryousuke wasn't a particularly deep sleeper either, so he could count himself fortunate Sugane didn't toss or turn too much in bed. So far, he figured the other guy had some fairly normal sleeping habits.

At least, until Sugane crashes onto the floor. The noise stirs him out of slumber, and Ryousuke heaves himself to sit up, body feeling a heavier than usual with sleep.]

Good morning.

[why are you on the ground.]

[Sugane cursed himself, filing on his sudden clumsiness for another time. Now he had to prepare himself to handle whatever Ryousuke might say next.]

G... good morning.

[Please don't notice that his shorts seem longer. Please don't notice that he seemed smaller.]

[That might be some wishful thinking. Thing is, few things ever got past Ryousuke. Whether it be baseballs flying towards the outfield, or his so-called 'husband' shrinking overnight, Ryousuke would narrow onto it with steadfast precision.

Even with his mind still a little hazy, he lifts an eyebrow in Sugane's direction.]

Did you get smaller?

[It is rather unfortunate that Sugane isn't exactly the best liar around.]

Don't be ridiculous, that's impossible.

[Says the guy who's secretly a superhero that transforms using his notebook-shaped-soul.]

[ryosan]

The sky rained chocolate, and you want to call something impossible?

[Ryo shifts the sheets out of the way, sliding towards the edge of the bed to stand up -- and finds his feet reach the floor with much more ease than usual.

He glances back at Sugane.]

Did I get taller?

[straightlace]

.... No.

[He refuses to move or even confirmed Ryousuke's suspicion. Let him just be on this floor forever.]

And I will add, that one improbability doesn't always lead the other.

[He's just making excuses now.]

[When you've grown used to something all your life, any kind of discrepancy becomes blatantly obvious. Ryousuke knows exactly how far his arms can reach when diving for a ball. He also is well aware he usually has to crane his neck upwards to speak to most of his peers. And of course, he knows the radius of his karate chopping strike zone off by heart. Ryousuke stands up, and he instantly realises his centre of gravity has shifted upward, that his line of sight has changed, and- his clothes are uncommonly tight?

It takes less steps than normal to cross the room and look down at Sugane still seated on the floor. His expression is terribly smug.]

What's the probability you're wrong this time?

[the landlord has been so kind to him???]

The fact Holly Heights is an unpredictable mine field.

[Truth to be told, even he was aware that his argument was much more weaker than usual. The thing was however, there were a lot of things he had lost at this point, he really couldn't care much of the sudden height but he'd rather live a day without another strike to his ego.

Except, what with his pants being so loose and pooling his legs...]

Look can I just...

[Borrowing pants with an incredibly smug Ryousuke seems like a challenging task.]

[ryosan]

[For someone who just woke up 18 inches taller and by all means should be disorientated as hell, Ryousuke sure looks pretty comfortable. He's quick to adapt, and with this particular surprise, there's nothing to complain about.

Following his gaze downward, Ryousuke catches onto the problem. His tone is light and pleasant as he prompts Sugane further.]

It's fine, you can ask.

[If he could shrink any further and avoid Ryousuke's gaze, that would be great. Instead Sugane just stare on the floor and hope things will be over soon enough.

Except.]

Y... you know exactly what I want to ask.

[ryosan]

[Sugane should really learn that playing games with Ryousuke cannot possibly end well.]

You need help reaching something on the top shelf?

[straightlace]

[He'll keep playing until he knows the exact rules, preferably also having a rule book on hand as well.]

Not currently no, but there are other things you can help me with.

[This won't get anywhere unless someone is direct.]

A problem in your pants?

[Amazingly, in the end, Sugane was still a teenager and the implications didn't fly over his head. He tries to hide away his blush, instead he just looks worse as he grit his teeth and his voice uneven;]

Yes, I need to... borrow. Your. Pants.

[It's morning and today's mood has already been decided.]

[Ryousuke tugs on the waistband of his pyjama bottoms. It was fortunate they were loose and stretchy, but he'd grown so much they were no longer anywhere near the ankle-length they were supposed to be.]

These?

[should he begin stripping or]

It doesn't only have to be those!

[Shit, calm down and regain your composure.]

[straightlace]

I mean, what I was trying to say is that, I'd like to borrow one of your pants- That's still clean and neatly folded in the closet.

[ryosan]

[Jeez, don't get your panties in a bunch.]

Be more specific next time.

[Finally complying, Ryousuke begins rummaging through their shared closet, picking out a pair. He holds the pants out, as if checking the size and length... he's holding them way out of Sugane's reach.]

How about these?

[This was still way to early in the morning to incoherently yell in frustration.]

Those will be fine. Thank. You.

[In all fairness he should return the favor and lend Ryousuke his own pair of pants, but right now he has yet reach satisfying levels of glaring at him.]

[Ryousuke remains 100% unphased by whatever glares or dirty looks Sugane shoots his way.]

Should I leave these on the floor then? You seem attached.

[It'd be simple to retrieve the clothes if he stood up and reached a little.]

[Is this a trick? Is Ryousuke going to pull another one up on him?]

.... Just leave them on the bed, I'll be up in a minute.

[ryosan]

[It's not a trick. He folds the pair of pants neatly, placing them at the foot of the bed. No need to look so suspicious.]

[He expected another round of tricks and mind games, that's surprisingly nice of him.]
