He didn't. But maybe he hadn't expected it so soon.]

[Wordlessly, he does the pose again, all without the smile leaving his face. He really is excited, it's peetty ridiculous.]

Bird... GO!

[The NOTE glows and turn transparent before a flash of light engulfs Sugane, in less than a second, he's back in his armor again.

As it did before, his eyes lights up as well as the rest of the armor glows.]

Well, here's my promise.

[He looks on as Sugane's goofy smile gets engulfed in light, replacing it with glowing eyes and a suit of armour. This sort of thing is depicted in tv shows or manga, and Ryousuke's seen his fair share, but this- this is far more impressive. Seeing it in the flesh with first row seats.]

Hmm...

[Ryousuke's already walking a circle around him, arms crossed behind his back, checking out the elaborate armour from all 360 degrees. He even raps his knuckles on the front of his metal chest plate, as if trying to get Sugane to react, under all that metal.]

[No reaction, at least physical wise anyways. He didn't expected this, so he looks down with his 'eyes' wide and confuse. So, is Ryousuke pleased or?]

... Well?

[ryosan]

[Pauses from knocking his tin can suit. Sugane had been so intent of keeping his word, he better respond in kind.]

[Ryousuke's smile is without condescension, or any edge of malice or underlying intent. It's just that- a smile.]

You really did deliver this time.

[Curling his fingers, he bumps his fist against the front of Sugane's armour.]

[If not for his G-Suit, he'd return reaction with his own smile turning soft. He hopes at least that it's evident enough from his tone of voice.]

When I give my word, I do my best to keep it as promised. I suppose you can count this as an early Christmas present.

[A light jab back Ryousuke's earlier comment. As for Ryousuke's actual present... well, he'll just have to see later on.]

What kind of Christmas present is that?

[There it is, the sense of humour comes back at full force. Not that it ever left, but y'know.]

A temporary one until I can think of something better.

[Not like he isn't starting to adapt to bantering nowadays.]

But then it wouldn't be a surprise, wouldn't it.

[A cool trick? He doubts carrying Ryousuke without breaking a sweat impress him like little kids did. Pulling out a katana out of sleeve then? That sounds like a magician's trick...]

But then again, he can't seem to find it anywhere, even after regaining his suit. Probably still in the Landlord's possession, somehow.

Sugane settles for the next best thing. He jumps towards the ceiling and, defying the laws of gravity, lands on his feet.]

[First, thanks for not wrecking the room.

Ryousuke's eyes follow the movement, left gazing up at where Sugane's feet meet the ceiling.]

That will be useful, should we ever need to clean the ceiling.

[ And then looks back to the where the approximate area of where Sugane's face should be, under that helmet contraption. The ceiling of the bedroom isn't all that high.]

Don't you usually have a- [He grips an invisible weapon, taking a side swing through the air. It resembles a baseball swing somewhat.] -sword?

[Someone's caught you practicing in private.]

[He looks 'up', or where upward is at his current spot. Though, he doesn't deny the idea of cleaning up ceilings in that matter had cross his mind once, or maybe three times.

Sugane blinks however at the mention of his sword. He hasn't quite realize what Ryousuke means just yet.]

Yes, but it's not with me at the moment. The landlord likely hasn't given it to me yet.

[It's tempting to slide his armor's hand open anyways, since it seems kind of horrific enough it might amuse Ryousuke? Though to him, it would just look silly, especially without a sword sliding out immediately after.]

How do you know I use a sword?

Oh? Just a hunch.

[Sometimes, with the way Ryousuke smiles, it's like he knows a lot more than he lets on.]

That's too bad though. I suppose he doesn't want you to become too greedy.

[A hunch..... that smile gives him a bad feeling. Wait.

He drops back down to the floor-- always landing perfectly on his feet, of course.]

H-have you been spying on me?!

[Never the one realizing he's as subtle chameleon with the wrong camouflage.]

Don't be so presumptuous, to believe I'd spend my time on that.

[True, he might have jumped to conclusions. For instance, what reason would Ryousuke have spying on him.

(He's still not apologizing though).]

[A flinches, it's probably even more recognizable with the clear 'clink' sound the G-suit makes.]

N-no, absolutely not!

[Absolutely yes.]

[Even in that armour, Sugane can still startle and stutter like that. Still a terrible liar, too.]

At least try not to sound so surprised, if you're going to pretend.

[He sits on the edge of the bed, posture relaxed and easy.]

Haruichi and Kuramochi haven't noticed. They haven't said anything, in any case.

[And with that, the suit vanishes into a blinding light and he's back to regular, armorless Sugane. ]

It's not that I'm bothered or trying to keep it a secret, it's just... [Embarrassing.] A habit.

[There it is again. The light is brilliant and close, but he doesn't look away. Maybe because his eyes are practically closed 24/7??]

Ah, one of those.

[And old habits die hard, don't they? Didn't he say six years? It must be more now.]

There's nothing wrong with that, is there? It's practice.

There really isn't... I guess? It's been part of my routine for too long, it's odd to suddenly stop.

[Practice. There's nothing odd or peculiar with the wording choice, but he can't help but wonder... It may or may not be just his imagination, but it feels like he might be relating something with Ryousuke?

It would be a very awful lie to say he has any kind of idea how serious his housemates think of baseball. Ironic as it is, but school clubs and activities are alien concepts to him. For starters, it seems like they're all long ingrained to some sort of regimen and routine. Athletes usually start since they were young, right?]

... How long have you and Haruichi been playing baseball? If you don't mind me asking.

[Sugane wouldn't be wrong in thinking that. Had he completely disagreed, it would have been a little insulting.]

So don't stop. [Swinging a bat isn't all that different from a sword, is it? Either way, you're swinging around a hunk of metal, ingraining the motions into your body until they become automatic. It started with Tetsu, but they'd all instilled the habit deep into their bones, carrying them through their three years at Seidou. Even now, he can't afford to stop.

He falls quiet, throwing his head back to face the ceiling again. It's been a while.]

Since elementary school. My parents were always supportive of it, and Haruichi followed not long after. [as always.]

[And he's back to refocusing on Sugane. The 'why?' is unspoken.]
